Since 2001, Sharonda has taken pride in providing counseling and education to individuals in adverse situations. She grew up on the southside of Chicago having faced the same adversities she commits to helping her clients confront. As a teen parent, Sharonda relocated to Southern Illinois where she received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology. She later completed her Masters in Counseling while working with various agencies dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect. Sharonda is licensed in the state of Missouri as a Professional Counselor and a licensure supervisor for postgraduate, provisionally licensed counselors. Sharonda also holds the credential of a National Board-Certified Counselor. and serves on the Advisory Board for the counseling program at Missouri Baptist University. She's also an adjunct professor for various universities in their Behavioral Health and Sciences program.
Sharonda's areas of specialty include, sexual/physical abuse and trauma, eating disorders, anger and behavior management, personal growth and development, professional growth and development, distress tolerance and other maladaptive coping skills. Sharonda has authored and self-published three books, "14 Day Love Diet: A Self Help Guide to Letting Go of Unhealthy Relationships;" "94th & Racine: The Roots of Me" and "94th & Racine: The Growth of Me." Sharonda also provides workshops on various topics such as trauma, cultural competency, parenting and understanding inner city dynamics.
Sharonda is credentialed with Mo HealthNet, United Health Care, Aetna, Ambetter, Military One Source, Value Options, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Home State Health, Missouri Care, Healthlink, CTS Funds, Archdiocese of St Louis, MHNet, St Louis Partners, and a host of other contracts. If client does not have insurance, he/she may qualify for other payment arrangements and/or sliding fee scale. Sharonda welcomes the opportunity to earn your trust and business.
